The ethical foundation of curriculum refers to the theory on ethics which have deeply affected the curriculum goal, curriculum implementation, curriculum design, curriculum evaluation, curriculum reform. The study of ethical foundation can help us to broaden the research on curriculum, improve the theoretical foundation study of curriculum, provide theoretical support and guidance for the practice of curriculum reform, bring methodological implications to other subject foundational study.Using the method of literature and theoretical analysis, this paper summarizes the study of ethical foundation of curriculum and expfores the ethics and mechanism of curriculum. The characteristics of foreign study shows the diversifications on fields, methods, there are also shortcomings,such as superficial and scattered. The research of ethical foundation of curriculum has a late beginning in China. It relates to fair, good and evil, humanitarian and system, but there are some problems such as narrow range, scanty method, unbalanced frame, obscure mechanism and lack of practicality. Based on this, our country’s study ought to broaden the boundary, explore the diversified research methods, promote the integration and deepening, strengthen mechanism of ethics and improve the practicalness.The ethical mechanism of curriculum refers to the ethics mechanism of curriculum operation. We can discuss it from curriculum design, curriculum objectives, curriculum implementation, curriculum evaluation and curriculum reform. Curriculum design reflects the utility of social ethics, social ethics works in curriculum content design and curriculum structure design. It makes the content of the curriculum design more reasonable and structure tends to be complete balance. Curriculum objectives reflects the pursuit of social ethic value. curriculum objectives as part of the goals and objectives of social ethics, which is conducive to the development of the curriculum goal towards humanity, justice and diversification. Curriculum implementation is the link of organization and implementation of social ethics.In this link social ethics involves the subject and strategy of curriculum implementation.It also involves the ethical standards of curriculum resource development and other issues. Curriculum evaluation is the link that feedback and regulation the utility of social ethics. Social ethics evaluation criteria comes from subjective and objective. This paper also discusses the value orientation when evaluate the utility of social ethics. Curriculum reform reflects to the change of social ethics. Those reforms come from ethical conflict, unreasonable value orientation and development of system ethics. At the same time, curriculum reform can promote ethical theory deepening development.
