Integrative practical activities curriculum is a highlight during the basic education reform in new era. On the one hand, this is a new compulsory set course from primary school to high school from the perspective of external form; on the other hand, it is a concentrated reflection of the new curriculum concept according to inherent theoretical foundation. Therefore, integrative practical activities curriculum is a focal point and difficult point in this curriculum reform. Naturally, the cognition of it completely and accurately is related to whether the integrative practical activities curriculum will be implemented well.From the study of existed literature, the theoretical achievements on integrative practical activities curriculum have been accumulated much. But in comparison with the reality, there is a big gap between them. A number of teachers even the leaders in school know little on how to implement this curriculum. So we can see all these research achievements don' t exert their function to guide curriculum implementation. We explore the reason of the phenomena and find out that the key point is not the insane theory but we don' t convert the theory into practice. So the author analyzes the foundation of theory and practice of integrative practical activities curriculum in order to set a bridge between theory and practice.The research indicates there are two major sources to develop the current integrative practical activities curriculum. The first one is integrative curriculum which focuses on the content of the course; the other one is activities curriculum which concentrates on the way of course implementation. The integrative practical activities curriculum put the two types of curriculum together. From the history view, we can take integrative curriculum and activities curriculum as the theoretical andpractical foundation to launch integrative practical activities curriculum; from the reality view, integrative curriculum and activities curriculum have more and more important function in the whole curriculum field,so they have more relationship and useness to the integrative practical activities curriculum. Therefor we choose them as the beginning of analysis, including theirs history, nature, feature, goal, content, implementation, evaluation, reflection. Generally,we may think it' s the analysis to integrative curriculum and activities curriculum, but the real aim is to reveal the foundation of theory and practice of integrative practical activities curriculum. Our research indicates that there are much close relationship between them, the theoretical achievements and pratice experience can serve for the integrative practical activities curriculum.But it dosen' t means that the integrative practical activities curriculum is the simple connection of integrative curriculum and activities curriculum. There are many special features in the integrative practical activities curriculum, for example the curriculum resources, the research ability of teachers, the new roles of students, the challenge of reality, and so on. So we think the relationship among them is the integrative practical activities curriculum is based on them and at the same time , it passes them, and the former two curriculum is the basis of the integrative practical activities curriculum.
