Since the1980s, after school’s tutoring has been spreading in China in our country, after school’stutoring is ranging widely from largest cities to the smaller ones. However, it is less focused in researchfields. So, it is particularly important to study students’ after school’s tutoring in the stage of compulsoryeducation. The after school’s tutoring suppliers mostly seek for profits, while demanders, students andparents, aim to become competitive in their studies, so they seldom open the data of their work. Besides, itis rarely found that the study about tutoring as one member of after school’s tutoring organization.Based on the S training center as investigation object, analyze the current issues and the problems incompulsory education phase; Issuing questionnaires to M city elementary and middle schools, analysisdriving factors of after school tutoring in the compulsory education stage; Summarize the problems andreasons, seeking to solve the problems.This study found that, the students in the compulsory education stage in after school tutoring centerare main in public school. There are private school students to participate in as well. Pupils to attendafter-school tutoring rates than middle school students. Students are not only from cities but also fromcountryside. The students accept the private tutoring are main with three subjects,such as Chinese, Maths,English and one counseling the fewest. The most students accept5or1counseling. Primary schoollearning is more passive acceptance learning, and give priority to junior high school students toautonomous learning, the subject need to undertake choosing according to their own guidance. Parentschoose after-school tutoring is the most concerned about is not the price, for their part, with a good teacheris most important. Family size, family income, parents’ level of education and school factors is a drivingforce of the after-school tutoring in compulsory education stage.Currently, the problems of after-school tutoring in compulsory education phase mainly concentrated inthe internal management which is not standard, hitting the mainstream school teaching, adverse effects onthe education fair. Therefore, the government should strengthen the organization policy regulation ofafter-school tutoring in compulsory education stage. Schools should improve the classroom and teachingthrough improving the teaching efficiency and enhance the appeal of primary and middle school students.Parents should improve their ability of education and should not push their children’s educationresponsibility to the society and schools blindly.
