Teaching and research group is a basic unit of education research. In the case of implementing the newcurriculum, teaching and research group are given high hopes which is rebuilt to help teachers adapt to thenew curriculum reform, teaching and research group plays an irreplaceable role for teachers’ professionaldevelopment. Therefore, the effectiveness of the teaching and research group attracted the attention from allwalks of life. The author has found that the effectiveness of the teaching and research group of elementaryschool in ShiHezi is not high. After collecting and researching the literature of the education research group,the author found it is a common phenomenon. Teaching and research group is so important to teacherprofessional development that the primary objective of this research is to improve the validity of teachingand research group. In the study of teaching and research group’s effectiveness is mainly from theperspective of the professional development of the teachers, and teaching and research group’s role is toimprove the teachers’ ability to learn and to promote the professional development of teachers. Manyfactors are influencing the effectiveness of the teaching and research group, the author conducted theresearch from the following several aspects: shared vision, administration, the structure and culture,knowledgeable management and technique application. Several aspects are based on the preliminaryobservation and research design of the sample schools.This study selected three representative primary school’s teaching and research groups in ShiHezi asthe research object. It selected Y primary school, W primary school and J primary school as a case throughthe questionnaire survey, interviews, observation to explore the effectiveness of teaching and researchgroup activities. It is aimed at deeply understanding the status of teaching and research groups of the threeprimary schools, and analysing the problems and the reasons, and puting forward the countermeasures andsuggestions to improve the teaching and research groups.The results found that the teaching and research group effectiveness is different for teaching andresearch groups of primary schools in different school sizes. From the results of study, the teaching andresearch groups have advantages and shortcomings. The effectiveness of teaching and research groupeffectiveness has some problems: teachers do not know the common vision and the direction; the target ofthe teaching research group’s activities can’t be implemented effectively; emergency occurs withoutemergency measures; knowledgeable management system is not perfect; teachers are unskilled aboutelectronic technology. According to the actual situation of the sample teaching group, constructing thelearning research group is put forward. The school is the carrier of knowledge and is conducive toconstructing learning research group. Teachers are not only the knowledgeable inheritance but also theinnovators. Teachers as the main body of teaching and research group have the main power to contributingthe learning research group. Meanwhile, learning research group has the condition to promote teachers’professional development.
