Picture Book is a unique form of children’s literature, it is a combination of map and text, which is interwoven through the map and text complement each other to complete the story told. Illustrated picture of both charm and beauty of words. In many developed countries and regions, has become an important picture books mother-tongue teaching curriculum resources. With the promotion of children’s author and children’s reading people’s continuous efforts, coupled with the strength of propagation in the information society, picture books became important early reading children’s books in our country, more and more parents and teachers began to attach importance to picture books to read. Picture books not only as a seed of happiness, accompanied students childhood, lay the child a happy life, but also to cultivate an interest in students’reading and improve reading ability aspect plays a significant role. How excellent picture books into curriculum resources, how to use effective teaching of reading picture books became urgent at present teachers know, problems to be solved. I believe that how to effectively guide the children in the lower grades of picture books to read is a very worthy of study. The author defined the meaning and history of picture books, picture books have interesting summarizes convey sex, enjoy sex characteristics. Research began to read picture books from the primary grades and extracurricular reading relationship analysis of the status of low-grade primary school extracurricular reading and picture books for children to read, think picture books to read is an important part of the lower primary children’s extracurricular reading, reading picture books can induce primary grades children’s extracurricular reading deeper toward broader development, in order to determine the lower primary segment located in picture books electives that vision. Then, just picture books reading lessons in the implementation of lower primary section, the author offers several effective instructional strategies to read picture books.
