The independent reading of primary chinese is an important part of reading teaching, itis the expansion and extension of reading teaching, and it is also the necessary part of thetraining of reading ability. We can consolidate and enlarge classroom teaching effect, improvethe students’ reading and writing levels, enrich knowledge and broaden visual by independentreading. The students who active reading health readings inside and outside often have deepculture cultivation, extensive life vision and sound personality and psychological.Independent reading can provide students with a good "intelligence" background, inspirestudents’ positive thinking, promote their reading thinking and the level of reading andwriting.The “independent reading of middle and senior grades in primary school” as the form ofreading teaching mainly applicable to Chinese reading teaching of middle and senior gradesin primary school. The aim of “independent reading” teaching ideas is to strengthen thestudents’ principal and practical, the students will reading consciousness by independentreading, so they can form the self-learning ability, accumulate language in reading,studynew knowledge, rich the emotion of life and improve our of Chinese. Independent readingteaching is a new teaching form rised with self-teaching in recent years. We understand theindependent reading situation of students in holy city primary school which in shouguang city,by surveys and interviews in this paper, and we put forward a series of feasible countermeasures to improve the current independent reading status of the students in this school. Wefound that there are a variety of factors by analysis the results of this survey and investigation.The first is factor the student own factor. The current situation in holy city school is thathigher grades students’ work is hard and they lack of reading time. In the survey we foundthat many primary students’ reading interest is not strong, only a small part of pupils likereading. Now the school education, the pressure of entering a higher school is one of thebiggest pressure of many students and parents. One of the reasons for students in seniorprimary school not interested in reading is that they facing enter a higher school, so they havegreat pressure. Beside, both the school and family hope that the students to do morehomework and refresher much more knowledge, so it causes the situation that students’schoolwork burden and lack of reading time. The second factor is teaching. The tachingconcept of reading teachers of higher grades in the elementary school is old, they lack ofeffective guidance, ignore the teaching material, failed to fully excavate the knowledge ofteaching material. Beside, the teaching design is unreasonable and the method of educationteaching is single. The third factor is the family education. The fourth factor is otherenvironmental factors. Other factors are also infect the reading ability of students, such as theschool enviroment, the weakness of teachers’ faculty and students’ learning ability. Teachersshould analysis the specific problems, then find the solutions to improve students’ readingability. Teachers also should finish the following work for students’ reading ability: payingenough attention to it, to update ideas, developing the capacity of students, extracurricularreading, effective teaching countermeasures, reading content, relaxing reading enviroment,language training, reading and independent social systems engineering.
