In the paper, preliminary exploration has been carried out upon the theory and practice on life-based physics teaching through the methods of document analysis and action research.After nearly ten year’s research and practice on teaching physics based on life, the author discusses the related concepts, theoretical basis and implementation strategy for teaching junior high school physics based on daily life under the background of new curriculum reform. Firstly, it’s important to help students to learn what is physics and what problems can be solved by leading in a lesson through life-based situation, creating daily life atmosphere in class and assigning life-oriented homework after class. In this way, students’ interests in learning physics can be greatly aroused and the abilities to solve the practical problems of life are improved accordingly. Secondly, we can use some self-made teaching aids in the experimental teaching, in which students are encouraged to participate in simple experiments and guided to do some small items. Gradually, students’ creative thinking and operating abilities are cultivated. As a result, it contributes to enhancing students’ practical ability. Lastly, the paper summarizes a set of relatively high quality physics teaching patterns of junior high school by studying five life-based teaching cases on force, heat, light, electricity and magnetism.
