| This paper mainly analysis the evolution of the concept of discipline and the institution ofdiscipline, the change of the university discipline organization and it’s specific implementationmeasures, and the characteristics of the development of the university discipline curriculum, duringEarly Republic of China. To show the development trajectory of the university discipline in EarlyRepublic of China, summarize its practical experience and provide reference for the moraleducation and students’management in the present.The concept of discipline has evolved from strict management to personality influence andstudent autonomy, the system of discipline has experienced the change from strict management tocombination of management and training and student autonomy, it reflects the understanding aboutstudents subjectivity is gradually increased and the students autonomous discipline system isgradual establishment in the early Republic of China. The change of the organization of disciplineshows the following characteristics: the school discipline organization has gone the change fromproctor office to discipline committee and student autonomous steering committee; dominated byschool, encourage students to participate in the management of school affairs, carry out the alumniassociation construction; take the student as the main body, construction the students’ autonomousorganization.The students’ autonomous organization have contribution to promote the student morality,intelligence, body development, cultivate students’ service consciousness, improving students’citizen consciousness, and change the ethos of the school, besides, it also has lack a good guide,radical with schools and teachers to form opposites, orientation is not clear easily influenced byoutside factors problem. The development of discipline curriculum has following characteristics:experienced the change from the Confucian classics courses towards the Chinese and Ethnicscourses, the unified rules of course toward the school independent courses, and with theautonomous development, curriculum discipline function gradually weakened, prone to activityinstructional mode.The development of university discipline in the early Republic of China have followingcharacteristics: in concept shown change from the Confucian classics to the individual standard, thesocial standard, in the organization and management exhibited by strict stop model to guideautonomous mode, in the knowledge and practice show that the unity of knowledge and action. For China’s contemporary university education reform and development of the Enlightenment:cultivating students’ citizen consciousness and autonomy, the establishment of the autonomous andguide the combination of implementation of student management mode, mode, and moral trainingto enhance students’ service to other public awareness. |
