With the rapid development of computers and networks, the level of information societyis becoming higher and higher. Educational ideas, teaching method and model, teachingenvironment have received great impact and have changed a lot. The application anddevelopment of educational information technology is playing more and more important rolein people’s daily life. As an important component of educational information,information-based education plays a basic and guiding role in the use of informationtechnology.In line with the original intention to promote the elementary information-based educationin Tangshan area, the writer launches surveys on the status of information-based education inthis area. In the research, the writer makes surveys in the form of questionnaires andinterviews. The subjects are30elementary schools randomly selected in Tangshan area.Unifying the working practice, the writer concludes the status of information-based educationand explores the problems in the development. Based on the analysis of the problems,strategies to solve and development were proposed and these strategies provide reference andsuggestions for promoting the elementary information-based education in Tangshan area.The paper consists of five parts: the first part is an exordium; this part introduces theresearch background, target, significance, research methods and the present status of this topic.The second part summarizes education information, elaborates the concept and content ofeducation information, analyzes the characteristics of education information and brieflydiscusses the index system of education information. The third part introduces the writer’sresearch on the development and application status of elementary information-basededucation in Tangshan area, with methods of questionnaires and interviews and thus finds thefactors hindering the development of elementary information-based education in Tangshanarea. The fourth part puts forward strategies on how to promote the elementaryinformation-based education in Tangshan area according to the problems found in the thirdpart. The fifth part of this paper makes a summary on the entire research.
