As the new force that stands for the future, teenager players, and the related cultivation areregarded closely to the sustained development of tennis in China. With the guarantee ofgood cultivation for teenager players, we can keep tennis undertakings booming not only inBeijing city, but nation-wide. Let’s begin to discuss and analyze what kind of problems areexiting in cultivating teenager players. Take the situation in Beijing city for example. The City Games which is held every four years, is regarded as the largest sports games inBeijing, with the highest level as well. This thesis was written according to the study onBeijing City Games which functions as an important platform for every district team toshow their athletic reserve. Being focus on the current cultivation on teenager tennisplayers in Beijing, the author invited some teenager players and their coaches asrespondents to undertake the study by different methods such as data recording, spot check, talking with experts, mathematical statistic and visits on the spot. The systematicanalysis was made according the first-hand data, partly gotten from talks withsome officials and team leaders who are in charge of tennis management and development, with the purpose to reflect the current situation about cultivation of teenager players inBeijing, put forward some ideas for the existing problems, and offer theoretical referenceto push forward the cultivation for teenager players in the future. Thereafter the authordrew the conclusions as following: Tennis is found not so popular among the teenagers inBeijing, with obvious development gaps among each district. The imbalance ofdevelopment is also seen in the different ages. Most of the players pay more efforts onstudies in regular school, and more and more after12years old particularly. As a result, thetime they spent on tennis training becomes less and less, thus cause the whole athletic levelis on the low side. Most of the players and their parents are found being lack ofimpetus with the daily training, but just show their interests on fitness or for fun by playingtennis. On the contrast, there is only a small part of them who cherish dreams to grow up tobe professional players. For the coaches, most of them chose their team membersaccording to their previous experience and player’s prestige. Thus they areadvised to learn more at the aspect of player-selecting with comprehensive and scientificways. Most of the players are found not so active in taking part in tournaments, or most ofthe tournaments they attended are belong to the low-leveled, hence what they haveachieved are not so satisfied. The training amount for players seems insufficient as a whole, much less for cultivation for the top players. The expansion of teenager player’s cultivationis hindered by the lack of tennis arenas and their inconvenient locations as well. Most ofthe coaches are found young or middle-aged. On the contrast, the senior and experiencedcoaches are in great demand. Most of the coaches are said in lack of impetus that is relatedpartly to their low professional titles. They are expected to keep improving theirprofessional skills and study ability. For the problems above, the author proposed hismethods as following: promote tennis to more sectors, especially among teenagers; help more teenagers to keep tennis as a hobby, and therefore pay more time and attention ondaily training; combine the useful resource by internet; ask for more policy support fromgovernment; screw up the education and cultivation for coaches, build up the platform oftournament ranking; help the sponsors to hold more well-organized tournaments, instead ofthe messy ones, thus strengthening the roles the tournaments should play...
