The apprenticeship is the earliest form of vocational education system, and couldbe jotted down in ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Rome and the WarringStates Period of China. Before the appearance of formal school, the apprenticeship,with the character of learning from father and teacher, was the main method todeliver the knowledge, skills and culture.Apprenticeship is the most distinctive vocational education in Australia,especially its Australian Modern Apprenticeships since1998in Australia is animportant area of reform and development of vocational education. The reform ofAustralian Modern Apprenticeships since1998is the object of this study. It analyzesmainly the reform background, actions, motivations and achievement of AustralianModern Apprenticeships, and finally, to expect gain something about usefulenlightenment for the reform and development of our country’s vocational education,which as this thesis’s research purpose.The thesis is divided into five sections.The first section is introduction, mainly on the background and significance of thestudy as well as the research content, thought, methods and research concepts, whichinclude the literature summarizing about the reform of Australian ModernApprenticeships vocational education and training in our country and abroad.The second section describes economy, culture and education background ofAustralia Modern Apprenticeships, then explaining the history evolution ofAustralian Modern Apprenticeships.The third part analyzes the reforming background, motivations and actions ofAustralian Modern Apprenticeships by using factor analysis method.The fourth section analyzes achievement of Australian Modern Apprenticeshipsystem through the statistics and data comparison, and then summarizes the reformcharacteristics. The fifth section is the thesis’s research aim: To expect gain something aboutuseful enlightenment for the development and reform of our country’s vocationaleducation.
