Sweden government pays active attention to the employment of Swedish college students. Sweden has built up employment system for college students, as well as government, enterprises, public organization and universities integrated employment security mechanism for college students. Therefore, high employment rate of Swedish college students is achieved. It deserves to learn the successful experiences behind the employment security mechanisms of Sweden.The focus will be switched to employment of Swedish college students in this thesis. The main purpose of this thesis is to study the employment preferences, employment system and employment security mechanism of Swedish college students. By using questionnaires, the Swedish college student’s employment preferences will be uncovered, including employment situation, the relation between major and employment, the relation between intern and employment, ways of employment, employment preferences, career guides and employment security. In addition, by using the ways of questionnaire, interview and literature review, the employment system and the employment security mechanism for Swedish college students will be investigated in the view of government, companies, public organization and colleges. Combined with employment theory, deep-seated reasons of high employment rate of Swedish college students will be explored. The reasons include steady political environment, developed economy, active employment policy, complete laws and regulations, assistance for unemployment, strict supervision mechanisms, normative labour market, diverse employment networks and platforms, perfect career service provided by university and scientific career planning for students.Finally, some crucial enlightenments to build up employment security mechanism for Chinese college students will be presented in the view of government, companies, colleges and students. Government should make effort to increase the salary and improve the welfare system and reduce the gap of salary after tax. Government should legislate employment equity laws and regulations, and establish employment equity supervision department to create equal employment environment for college students. Furthermore, government should optimize and integrate the career networks and platforms, to realize depth career information sharing. In addition, government should encourage college students to find job in small cities. Companies should strengthen the sense of responsibility in promoting the employment of college students, and strengthen the collaboration with universities and colleges, provide more internship positions to students, and recruit the students fairly. For universities and colleges, a lot kind of career services and guides should be provided, and the quality of teaching should be improved to educate high level qualified students, and the career website should be improved. For students, they should choose their major cautiously based on future labor market and personal interest. In addition, the students should participate in the internship for improving their employability, and they should change their employment concept.
