| The number of college graduates in China is expected to reach 11.58 million in 2023,and the problem of "difficult employment" has once again become the focus of social attention.Faced with the increasingly severe employment situation,many graduates choose to "seek employment before choosing a job",even at the expense of greatly reducing their employment expectations.This is equivalent to splitting the career development plan,preparing for finding a suitable job through timely employment and experience accumulation,which has been widely regarded as a rational choice and widely promoted.As a result,a large number of graduates "muddled" into the workplace,giving birth to such phenomena as "evasiveness","naked resignation" and frequent "job hopping",which caused serious damage to enterprises and society.Also facing the employment pressure,in recent years,some graduates have started to choose "slow employment",that is,to find a suitable job without employment,and take it as an effective high-quality employment strategy.Then,the analysis of the impact of "slow employment" on "stable employment" in this paper can not only enrich the cognition of "slow employment" function,but also involve the employment choices of a large number of graduates,which is obviously of great significance.According to the theory of person-job matching,"stable" employment requires a high degree of matching between graduates and jobs,that is,graduates’ employment satisfaction and employment satisfaction of enterprises are relatively high,so as to avoid graduates’ active or passive resignation.First of all,"slow employment" breaks the inherent employment mode of "finding a job after graduation",which helps graduates to know themselves,understand the job market and accumulate practical experience,thus having more opportunities to find suitable jobs that meet their employment expectations.Secondly,"slow employment" is similar to a kind of informal education,in which the salary obtained from early employment is its opportunity cost,while the time and energy consumed by "first obtaining employment and then choosing a job" and the breach of contract and job switching costs caused by "job hopping" constitute the income of "slow employment".Moreover,if graduates improve their employability through "slow employment",they can gain more career development achievements,and they can generate long-term benefits in the future.Especially,with the expansion of higher education,the employability of graduates can’t meet the needs of employers more and more,so "slow employment" will be more and more important for high-quality and stable employment to improve graduates’ mobility and make them better respond to the requirements of work tasks.Finally,according to the job search theory,the information of the labor market is incomplete,and "slow employment" objectively prolongs the job search time of graduates,and helps them to match suitable jobs to achieve "stable" employment.Therefore,based on the data of China Labor Force Dynamic Survey(CLDS),this paper uses instrumental variable method,Hausman-Taylor estimation,PSM analysis and other methods to investigate the impact of "slow employment" on graduates’ job-job matching and employment stability.In this regard,this paper invested efforts in studying the influence of the "delayed employment" on graduates’ person-job matching and the employment stability.Such a choice does prolong their jobs and constitutes an essential part for them to "stay at" their posts,found the outcomes.Further mechanism analysis suggested that "delayed employment",on the one hand,shines on equipping graduates with better understanding of themselves and occupation,improving demand-supply matching and lowering the active turnover rate of graduates;on the other hand,it strengthens their transferability to serve the requirement-ability matching,thereby cutting down the passive turnover rate;moreover,it also works in promoting the matching of values between graduates and enterprises,enhancing the aforementioned two matching and the effect of "stable" employment.So that,in order to boost graduates’ "stable" employment: firstly,establishing a new employment concept for College students.The employment of graduates should not only look at the speed and quantity,but also look at the quality of employment."Slow employment",as a new employment concept derived from the background of difficult employment,means that "work after graduation" will no longer be the "standard" for graduates.Therefore,all sectors of society should give understanding and respect to college graduates choosing "slow employment".Secondly,transforming the concept of talent cultivation and focusing on the quality of employment for College students.Against the background of economic downturn in recent years,it is a great achievement for colleges and universities to maintain a high employment rate.However,this shallow level of employment has major drawbacks,such as lack of achievement in the later period,work fatigue and frequent job-hopping.Universities need to change the training concept of eager for quick success and instant benefits,pay attention to the employment quality of students,rather than only pay attention to the employment rate at graduation,and objectively view the phenomenon of "slow employment".Thirdly,we should do a good job in career planning for "slow employment" groups."Slow employment",in the term of "slow" is the speed,not the attitude.College graduates choose "slow employment" to determine the plan and goals in advance and make full use of the "slow employment" opportunity to achieve self-improvement.Don’t waste your time because of lack of pressure and aimlessness.Therefore,in order to guard against the "slow employment" evolving into "lazy employment",colleges and universities need to strengthen the career planning and guidance of graduates with "slow employment",guide college students to use the career adjustment period to set up career goals,improve the competitiveness of the workplace,and help them to use the "slow employment" adjustment period to better understand and adjust themselves.The graduates through this way to match the appropriate positions,so as to achieve "stable" employment. |
