The teaching capacities of teachers refer to the ability topromote the development of students in specific teaching situation.Based on a certain level of teaching knowledge and skills, this kind ofteaching capacity aims at achieving teaching objectives. As normaluniversity students, the cultivation of their teaching capacities is themajor task of normal universities. The situation of realization onteaching capacities of normal university students will have a directeffect on the professional literacy of normal students and the qualityof basic education.Starting from education internship of normal university, thisresearch is based on four dimensions of teaching capacities(cognitive ability, implementation ability, innovation ability andreflective ability of teaching). Taking300interns of Shanxi NormalUniversity as research objects, this paper mainly focus on therealization situation of their teaching capacities by usingquestionnaire and interview. The study shows that through internshipthe realization status of teaching capacities of interns in ShanxiNormal University are more optimistic in general. Among them, the situation of realization on interns’ teaching cognitive ability is thebest while the teaching implementation ability is the worst. Thesituation of realization on teaching reflective ability is better thanteaching innovation ability. Further analysis shows that during theinternship there are several aspects which have a significant impacton the realization situation of interns’ teaching capacities. Thoseaspects include the types of internship schools, internshipdisciplines, titles of guidance teachers, guiding situations of tutors,teaching in counties and the times of teaching independently byinterns.Based on the findings above, in order to improve and advance therealization situation of interns’ teaching capacities and promote thedevelopment of interns in a better way, strategies and suggestionshave been put forward as following according to education internship:(1)The aim of education internship should be clarified again and beguided in a right way.(2)The teaching arrangements of normaluniversities should be adjusted reasonably.(3)The system ofproviding tutors for interns should be regulated well.(4)Thecombined internship evaluation system of formative assessment andsummative assessment should be established.(5)The cooperation ofmutual benefits between normal universities and internship schoolsshould be constructed.(6)Interns should have right attitudes.
