With the development of athletic sports, the pushing of schoolsports and the gradual introduction of the relevant policies, thetraining ability of PE teachers is gradually becoming content inurgent need of research in the field of teacher evaluation. Theevaluation results of PE teachers training has a close relationshipwith the quality of reserve sports talents in our country and theimprovement of training ability of the PE teachers.This paper divided the respondents into two kinds. The first kindis middle school PE teachers of LinFen city, the other kind is highschool principals, section chiefs in basic education of EducationBureau, teachers engaged in teaching and sports training ofcolleges and universities. The latter is named expert class in orderto distinguish from middle school PE teachers. To investigate thecurrent situation of PE teachers training ability of several middleschools of LinFen city, Shanxi Province, according to theclassification, the author designs expert questionnaires and teacher questionnaires, and extracts200PE teachers,30highschool principals,30sports educational research group leaders,10section chiefs in basic education of Education Bureau and20sportsprofessional scholars of colleges and universities by stratifiedsampling method. Finally the author gets146effective PE teachersquestionnaires and80expert questionnaires. Research contentmainly includes seven aspects related to evaluation purpose,evaluation subject, evaluation schemes, evaluation content,evaluation standard, evaluation method and evaluation number. Theauthor draws the following conclusions by analyzing investigationresults with methods of factor analysis, independent sample T test,single factor variance analysis and data processing:(1) Most middleschools of Linfen city haven’t evaluated training ability of PEteachers.(2) The purpose of carrying out the training abilityevaluation is to help teachers improve the enthusiasm of sportstraining and improve training methods.(3) The body of carrying outthe training ability evaluation is vice presidents and researchgroup leaders in charge of sports.(4) The plan of training abilityevaluation is specified by the school administrators.(5) The contentof training ability evaluation mainly includes the ability to maketraining plans, to arrange reasonable sports training load, toorganize and arrange and to improve the competition ability of athletes.(6) The time of training ability evaluation is twice everyschool year. Evaluation approaches are working summary andwatching training process.(7) The feedback content of trainingevaluation is evaluation scores or grades.Feedback is announced atmeetings.According to the conclusions, the following suggestions are putforward: to strengthen the promotion of PE teachers’ professionaldevelopment; to set up a professional organization of PE teacherstraining ability evaluation; to improve the ability of PE teachers’self-evaluation, and to pay attention to evaluating according to thereal condition of schools.
