The proportion of aged population in China accounted for14.3%of the total population number by2012, and it made the aging degree further deepen. Under this condition, exploiting the elderly volunteers resources, improving the quality of the voluntary service and carrying out the elderly volunteers training not only met the elderly volunteers service demand in China at present, but also it was one of the important contents to deal with the challenge of aging. Compared with the speed of aging and the serious aging situation, the research about the elderly volunteers management, especially on the elderly volunteers training, was still weak. The perspective of Active Aging theory which paied attention to health, participating and security of the elderly and the method of Social Goals Model practice theory which emphasized social responsibility, social consciousness and the individual action effecting group action provided the guidance for the elderly volunteers training, and it was an attempt to apply the group work theory and voluntary service theory to the practice and research.In this paper, under the guidance of the Active Aging theory and Social Goals Model theory, the author made a case study on the elderly volunteers training, taking A Elderly Care Center of Kunming as an example.The training contents were divided into four parts, including the value and motivation of taking part in volunteer service, the elderly volunteers’ advantages and resources, volunteers’ ethics code, the skills and methods of providing voluntary service. In this study, factors which influenced the result of group work were analyzed,and suggestions for improving were discussed. Based on this practice, the author pointed out, the factors of affecting the elderly volunteers training group work result included the contents and forms of activities designing, members’needs, members’ belonging to the group, leadership’s qualities and experience. Through analyzing and discussing, we found that the social goals model of group work had positive significance on improving the quality of training under some conditions, the conditions included the standardized volunteers management system in organization, the recognition of group work method from organization, four relationships conditions, the members’ acceptance and adaptation to the method of group work, the team leader’s quality and experience. At last, the author put forward, putting the group work and elderly volunteers training into combination will be a possible way to realize Active Aging theory localization.
