Primary school is an important stage of school physical education, whose quality of physical education has a significant impact on students. The society should pay attention on the physical education(PE) teachers as more as the leaders of primary schools do. Nowadays, the phenomenon of PE teachers’ job burnout is more and more prevalent in rural primary schools. Solving the burnout problem is a necessary requirement to promote the standardization of rural elementary physical education.In this study, the research of the PE teachers’ job burnout in rural primary schools of Liaocheng City was carried out using the methods of literature studies, questionnaires, expert interviews and mathematical statistics. The current situation about the job burnout of the rural primary schools was known finally. The difference between three dimensions including of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and ineffectiveness was compared in terms of gender, age, seniority, education, job, title and others. The reasons caused PE teachers’ job burnout in rural primary schools were investigated to find out the measures of releasing pressure and improve the quality of teaching.The results indicated that the degree of PE teachers’ Job Burnout is high in rural primary school of Liaocheng City. The emotional exhaustion and low sense of accomplishment also appear seriously. The investigation reveal that primary PE teachers in the area in a state of fatigue, their work enthusiasm is low, own evaluation is relatively low, very difficult to obtain the sense of achievement, treat students indifferent. Among them male PE teachers’ Job Burnout degree is higher than that of female teachers. The higher of education level, the higher job burnout. PE teachers at the age of 40 years old to 50 show a high Job Burnout degree. Seniority between 15-25 years of Job Burnout among teacher is more serious. PE teachers with the intermediate title have a higher Job Burnout degree than other teachers. The reasons cause of Job Burnout are various, including personal reasons, school organizational reasons, social reasons.Several strategies are proposed to alleviate PE teachers’ Job Burnout in rural primary school of Liaocheng City: strengthen social support, optimize school organization,improve PE teachers’ adaptability.
