0ver the past 35 years, the physical condition of our young people shows a downward trend. Effective solutions to their physical health problems are worth the great concern of the whole society. Lack of adequate physical exercise is the most important reason for the physical health problems. Youngsters are willing and even eager to participate in taking part in sports activities. However, for various reasons they rarely take any action. My study is related to the motivation of taking exercises,from the individual characteristics of young people to exploring the relationship between adolescent’s exercise motivation and exercise behaviors.In this study, the scale of adolescents’ exercise motivation and the behavior questionnaire from 948 middle school students are used,as well as the project sample data analysis and the analysis of reliability and validity of the data from the survey.The mean test correlation analysis and structural equation are also used in the study.Conclusions:1.Motivation is an effective factors of exercise behavior among adolescents, but explain effectiveness is not high.2.Adolescents’ exercise motivations are different because of gender and different schools. The boys’ motivation is better than girls’ exercise motivation, and the exercise motivation in senior high school is stronger than junior high school. The sports school students have higher exercise motivation than the non sports specialty school students.3.The amount of exercise is different between two genders in adolescent period,different regions and schools. The boys have more exercise than girls, and the exercise of senior high school students is more than junior high school students. The students’ sports in city region is larger than that of students in rural areas, the amount of exercise sports school students than non sports specialty school students.4.The exercise motivation and exercise amount differ from regulation factors such as gender, the school study, the nature of the area they are living.Research proposals1.Improve the exercise motivation of adolescents. In physical education teaching, the teacher can through positive experiences, incentives and other ways to cultivate the students’ exercise motivation.2.This study shows that the ability of motivation has more significant effect on physical exercise behavior. Requires physical education teachers in the teaching process, therefore, more emphasis on skill learning, help students before graduation,at least with a relatively good at sport skills and learn to scientifically to participate in sports activities.3.According to the analysis of the relationship between motivation and exercise,physical education in different schools should base on the demographic characteristics of students with education intervention strategy to promote students’ exercise motivation and improve their exercise level.
