Study On The Current Situation Of Biological Teaching In The Junior Middle School Under The Academic Level Test In Luoding

The biology curriculum is opening in grade 7 and grade 8, and the biological academic level test is in the end of grade 8 which results of 30% will be included in the total score of senior high entrance examination in Luoding since 2011. After the analysis of literature, the biological teaching situation was investigated from 12 junior middle schools teachers and students in Luoding. On the basis of results, the positive changes and existing problems of biological teaching after the implementation of the academic level test were summarized, and the resolution strategy was presented, which could provide the recommendations to improve teaching level.It turned out that the biology teaching of Luoding had improved greatly: the biology teachers had positive attitude on academic level test, the biology teachers had increased, the proportion of professional teachers had increased too, teachers’ occupation accomplishment had improved and their work attitude was positive; at the same time, students’ learning interest had improved and they had simple learning motivation, their learning attitude were positive, their scientific literacy of biology had improved, their attitude on academic level test were positive too.However, there were still some problems in biological teaching. The course content was unconscionable, which wasn’t considered the actual of students. The teaching methods were too traditional, which was based on teachers’ teaching. The experiment teaching was not enough, the students lacked of hands-on experience. And students also lacked of independent study ability, always relied on teachers. There was a learning disconnection between junior and senior high school students. There were some difference between urban and rural schools.Accordingly, the following related suggestions from two sides are put forward: on the test side, the relevant departments should conside implementing the biology experiment test and adjusting the test time, also should attach importance to the function of suprevision for biology teaching; on the teaching side, the teachers should enrich the course content, improve the teaching methods, try new teaching methods, make experiment teaching practicable, improve the quality and quantity of experiment, improve students’ independent study ability, pay attention to the link of biological study, relevant departments should try to narrow the gap between urban and rural.
