Classical Chinese, as a main embodiment of traditional culture, contains many values and shines the excellent thoughts and wisdom of sages. By studying the classical Chinese, students can not only acquire a good knowledge of classics, but also can get an inheritance of good tradition and national spirit. From a perspective of textbook structure and teachers’ common teaching strategy, the classic teaching in high school is an important part of Chinese teaching, but the classic teaching is mainly focusing on the knowledge and the literal meaning, which produces a not good teaching effect and attracts students’ attention not enough. Compared with using what kind of teaching method in classical Chinese teaching, it is more important to study what should be taught, because the teaching contents radically determine what methods should be taken.The current doubts on the status, value and method of classic teaching can perhaps be explained by judging whether the teaching contents is right and how to optimize the teaching contents.The study aims to find out the factors influencing the effects of classic teaching, by a study of a case, using curriculum standard to testify the questions discovered in the study, and then exploring the principles and methods of classic teaching contents optimization in order to improve the level of classic teaching.The study mainly takes an analysis of problems existing in the content teaching of classic teaching, and gives some indications about the Chinese classic contents optimization teaching. The researcher finds out that the textbook contents should be developed from a view of article’s style.the teacher should help students strengthen the basic language knowledge, but meanwhile guide students learn to appreciate the article’s features, the aesthetic elements etc. As for the emotion in the article, teachers should try to think out some Chinese methods, including a perspective of humanistic vision as to promote the students’ cultural level and spiritual taste.
