The New Curriculum Standards for the Chinese Language have been implemented for years, but the teaching of Classical Chinese Language has been of low efficiency, which is puzzling teachers and students in most senior high schools. This dissertation is intended to present the problems in teaching classical Chinese Language, to analyze and diagnose the possible causes of the low efficient teaching. This dissertation is aimed to, as far as the teaching contents are concerned, pose critical introspection and constructive measures for improvement as well, thus achieving the efflorescence of the effective teaching of Classical Chinese Language.In this dissertation, the writer combines the frontier-teaching-contents theory included in the national research with his own and others'teaching practice, and, based on the teaching cases of Classical Chinese Language, concludes the experience in teaching Classical Chinese Language and consequently explores the prerequisites of that teaching. The four parts included in this dissertation are as follows:In the first part, the writer briefly analyses the misunderstanding and problems found in the process of defining the teaching contents of Classical Chinese Language. The writer also states the inadequacy in the construction of teaching contents and exemplifies the deflections that commonly occur in the process of defining the teaching contents.In the second part, the writer sketches the theoretical researches and practice discussions on teaching contents and their referential effect on how to define the teaching contents of Classical Chinese Language.In the third part, the writer states, in principle, how to define the teaching contents of Classical Chinese Language, which cover defining the contents according to different styles of the teaching materials, defining the teaching contents and learning contents respectively, the effective expansion of the teaching contents, the incorporation of reading aloud into the teaching contents.In the fourth part, the writer lays greater emphasis on teaching practice. Taking teaching cases as the study channel, the writer probes for successful experience in defining the teaching contents of Classical Chinese Language. In this part, the writer tries to discuss following issues:the similarities and differences of teaching contents in the case of the teaching materials of the same style; how to define appropriate teaching contents to stimulate students'learning; how to define teaching contents to improve students'expressive competence of language; how to excavate emotions and values implied in the teaching materials of Classical Chinese Language.
