Compared with the classified development of higher education in the western developed countries, which is highly meeting the development of economic and social, the "great leap forward" development of higher education in our country, promoted the development of social economy in a certain extent, however, the university orientation and talent training model of higher education failed to adjust timely, resulting in homogenization of colleges and universities, and has a bad impact on the quality of talent cultivation. The ability of adaption to career, survival, innovation of university graduates is too poor to meet the needs of economic and social development. So it is necessary to investigate the mode of talent training and rethink how to cultivate the graduates with high comprehensive quality, professional ability to meet the needs of economic and social development. Especially for the local colleges and universities which are faced with tremendous pressure of competition from other undergraduate level universities of homogeneity, how to utilize the differentiation competition to cultivate high-quality applied talents to meet the needs of economic and social development is an important task for them. Combined with the present situation of China to analysis the problems existing in applied talent cultivation mode of local colleges and universities, based on the introduction of foreign applied training talents experience,and according to current social economic development reality of China, this paper had a preliminary discussion on the construction of applied talent cultivation mode in local colleges and universities.In order to understand the present situation and problems of applied talents training in local colleges, this paper adopted literature method, comparative research method, and survey research method to analysis present situation of the research on talent cultivation mode at home and abroad in recent years, visited 26 universities and colleges in Jiangxi province, collected the talent training scheme of them and made a careful analysis on the main problems and the causes of these problems existing in the process of training application oriented undergraduate talents in the local colleges and universities. Under the guidance of the modern education theory and education ideology of humanistic educational, competence-based and pragmatism, and directed at the characteristic and basic requirements of application-oriented undergraduate level that can meet the needs of economic and social development, this paper discusses and defines the basic elements of the applied undergraduates cultivating mode of the target location, quality specification requirements of knowledge ability, curriculum system, the implementation way and evaluation methods, and constructed the three-in-one professional shunting training mode of applied talents of "comprehensive quality, professional ability, occupation direction" to meet the basic characteristics of applied talents and the needs of social economic development. through the model of combination of the five course modules and professional shunting training, it does cultivate both students’ professional ability and adaptability. This model has been implemented in Jiangxi Science Technology Normal University for several years with good results. It proves that this model accords with the law of cultivating applied talents in local colleges and universities, what’s more, it can provide a reference for the work of talent cultivation in the local colleges and universities which are in transition period.
