With the deepening of the popularization of the education in China,the number of local universities has grown rapidly,and the scale has been expanding,as a result,the cultivation of undergraduate has changed to the popular stage from the elite education stage in the past.In order to guide the rational orientation of universities,overcome the tendency of homogenization,improve the quality of talents training in local undergraduate universities,meet the needs of rapidly developing economy and society for high-quality workers,and effectively solve the problems of recruitment difficulties and students' employment difficulties in enterprises,applied-oriented undergraduate universities have emerged as the times require.This study focuses on the talent cultivation of applied-oriented universities in Hebei Province,conducts in-depth analysis and exploration on the current situation,existing problems and causes of talent cultivation in applied-oriented universities in Hebei Province,and tries to explore effective countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing talent cultivation in applied-oriented universities in Hebei Province.First of all,this study makes it clear that the applied-oriented universities are transformed from the local ordinary undergraduate colleges and universities,to implement applied-oriented undergraduate education,cultivate applied-oriented undergraduate talents,mainly focus on teaching,highlight the application and practicality of major and curriculum,and take the initiative to serve the development of local economy,society and industry.Applied-oriented undergraduate talents refer to applied-oriented talents who not only have solid professional theoretical foundation,complete professional technical system and professional accomplishment,but also can transform the professional theoretical knowledge they have mastered into the ability of future career positions.The cultivation process of applied-oriented undergraduate talents is closely and organically coordinated with many factors,such as the talent training objectives,specialty setting,curriculum system,teaching team construction,teaching method system and quality evaluation system,to realize the cultivation of applied-oriented undergraduate talents.Secondly,this study uses a variety of research methods such as literature research method,questionnaire survey method and interview method to investigate the current situation of talent cultivation in six pilot universities of applied-oriented undergraduate in Hebei Province.The research findings indicate that the talent cultivation of applied-oriented undergraduate universities in Hebei Province has the following problems.First,the concept of talent cultivation is solidified,the goal of talent cultivation is out of touch with the actual situation,the matching degree between professional setting and market demand is not enough,and the mode of talent cultivation is single.Second,the proportion of curriculum design is not reasonable enough,the content of the curriculum emphasizes the theory rather than the practice,the classroom teaching method is single,and the students' participation in the classroom is not high.Third,the structure of the teaching team is not reasonable enough,the knowledge and skills of the new teachers are not matching.Forth,the quality evaluation method is single,and lack of practical ability assessment.In addition,the influencing factors of talent cultivation in applied-oriented undergraduate universities in Hebei Province are analyzed from four aspects: overall cognition of talent cultivation,classroom teaching,teaching staff and quality evaluation system.Finally,in view of the problems and causes of talent cultivation in applied-oriented universities in Hebei Province,some countermeasures and suggestions are proposed for optimizing the talent cultivation in applied-oriented undergraduate universities in Hebei Province from the following aspects: first,strengthening the cognition of talent cultivation and innovating the cultivation of applied talents;second,optimizing the classroom teaching of talent cultivation and improving the curriculum teaching system;third,strengthening the construction of teaching team and stabilizing the professional teaching team;fourth,promoting the diversity of evaluation methods and improving the quality evaluation system;last,deepening the combination of industry,education and research to achieve win-win coexistence between schools and enterprises.
