This paper is the phased achievement of Gansu province education science 12 th Five-year Plan---- Excellent traditional culture inheritance and traditional Chinese wisdom education system, which the professor Guo Zhaodi leads.The studies of Chinese ancient civilization is an important part of traditional Chinese culture. Chinese textbooks is the important resort from which middle school students learn about Chinese classics.Methods adopted in this article include: documentation method, method of comparison research and method of history. According to The standard of Chinese course in high school and Improvement of traditional Chinese culture education guide lines, firstly arrange the Chinese classics in Chinese textbooks published by People’s Education Press before 2007, especially the first one in 1952. The next editions use the version of different degrees.Secondly System analysis of the number and content of Chinese classics in compulsory course and selected course of Chinese published by People’s Education Press in 2007. And the version is biased towards belles-lettres rather than classics and philosophy; Confucianism rather than Taoism and Buddhism; thoughtful rather than artistic.Compared with the Chinese and the Basic materials of Chinese culture senior high school textbook of the Han-Lin 2012 version in Taiwai, the PEP version lacks a set of “compulsory” textbook and pays less attention to the original culture than the Taiwai Han-Lin version. The nation is suggested to make a set of Chinese classic textbook and add some contents related to philosophy and belles-lettres. Therefore, in order to achieve the purpose of inheriting Chinese excellent traditional culture, the Chinese textbook could include classics, history, philosophy and belles-lettres; the Neo-Confucianism, the textual criticism, Ci-ology and the the Practical Confucianism could also be included.
