Art therapy is a combination of fine arts and psychology, the anxiety and weariness, in regulating students perfect personality to promote, enhance social skills, improve the aspects such as emotional expression effect is remarkable. And application of art therapy in the school fine arts education is not an attempt to take students as the patient to his psychological treatment and analysis. But the students will be considered a separate individual, pay attention to students’ problems and concerns, the concrete and effective response. This study aims to clarify the meaning of art therapy into the school of fine arts and the importance of building of middle school students’ mental health.The first part of this article is literature research. Expounds related concepts of art therapy, are summarized and reviewed in this paper from the definition to the development, then introduce the cause of the selected topic and the significance, the research at home and abroad for the current art therapy and blend in treatment of fine arts of the research situation of art education. Through the theoretical part of the comb for the experimental study and application of the back to lay a solid foundation. The article second part for present situation investigation and study, through the field of Haikou city art teacher some interviews as well as local students’ questionnaire survey, to understand their perception of art therapy. Try to explore the art therapy can be incorporated into the feasibility of ordinary art education. The article third part for experimental study to Haikou experimental middle school high school as the research object. Through the experimental classes of students for nearly two months of the fine arts teaching experiment, compared with students of SAS, SDS, self-test scale test results before and after the fine arts teaching experiment results analysis. Article fourth part is the reflection of the whole research and countermeasures, and eventually to give art therapy can be incorporated into the implementation of the middle school fine arts teaching advice: research and development of art therapy can be incorporated into the school-based curriculum of high school of fine arts, painting, psychological analysis of infiltration in the usual art teaching, the classroom focus on the emotional experience of students, try to remove obstacles of youth painting, try more to use external content of five aspects, such as the fine arts curriculum resources. In order to provide some reference for the current school fine arts teaching activity.
