The Influences Based On Satir Therapy On Poor College Students’ Mental Health

In recent years, the Communist Party of China and the government issued a series of policies to support poor students to receive higher education, more and more poor students have access into the ivory tower. However, many researches show that poor college students are more prone to psychological problems,such as lower self-esteem, poor interpersonal relationships, the lack of effective means to alleviate psychological pressure, and many of them have anxiety, depression or other negative emotions. Therefore, the mental health of poor students needs educators’ attention.At present, most study of the poor college students stay at the theoretical level, lack of empirical research. After the Satir model was introduced into China, more and more consultants, therapist recognized and accepted it. And in practice, they found that the Satir model can effectively help the visitors to enhance self-esteem, change the negative emotions and improve interpersonal relationships. It is a scene of bustling activity at the workshop and continuous training of Stair model, but there is little research study. of the Satir model.Therefore, this study firstly investigate the mental health level of the pool college students,then use quantitative research and qualitative research methods, to find if the Satir Model can help improve the mental health of the pool college students.This study selected 20 poor college students from a “985 Project” university in Northwest of China as the research object, and randomly divided them into experimental group and the control group. The experimental group received group counseling last for about 8 weeks, 120 min once.We set the measuring tests before and after the experiment, and also set the tracking test after 3months. We used the Self-Esteem Scale(SES), the Depression Status Inventory(SDS), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), interpersonal relationship scale as scale tools, and the recording and interview in the process of group counseling used as a supplement, then used SPSS21.0Chinese version for data analysis.Data analysis results shown that: an independent samples T test is used to the experimental group and the control group, test before the experiment had no significant difference(p > 0.05),test after the experiment had a significant difference(p < 0.05) and tracking test difference was significant in self-esteem, depression and anxiety(p < 0.05), but not significant in the interpersonal relationship status(p > 0.05). The experimental group were analyzed by paired samples T test, the former test and after test results were in significant difference, especially inself-esteem, interpersonal relationship status, anxiety(p < 0.01); the pretest and tracking test shown the extremely significant difference in self-esteem(p < 0.01), and the significantly difference in interpersonal relationship status(p < 0.05).The main conclusions are as follow:(1) The group counseling of Satir model can significantly enhance the self-esteem, reduce depression and anxiety, improve interpersonal relationship of pool college students.(2) The group counseling of Satir model has timeliness in self-esteem, depression and anxiety, interpersonal relationship of poor students, has delay effect in self-esteem, interpersonal relationship.
