A Status Study On Students’ Satisfaction Of The Cultivation Work For Dual- Academic Degree Of Undergraduate

In order to understand the status quo of satisfaction with the cultivation work on undergraduate dual degree, to develop the problems that may exist in the work, and try to put forward strategies to improve the level and the quality of cultivation work. This study used questionnaire by self "Survey of Students’ Satisfaction with the Cultivation Work for Dual- academic Degree of Undergraduate " to conducted a survey on 500 undergraduate students who pursuing a double degree in 2012 in N University, and interviewed on seven double degree students, two work managers and one teacher who touch double degree courses.The study shows that the overall students’ satisfaction with the cultivation works on undergraduate dual degree of medium on the low side and there are some internal differences. Specific performance for overall students’ satisfaction mean for dual-degree undergraduate cultivation work is 3.26, while the five dimensions’ means are as follows: the students’ satisfaction on teaching is 3.26; the students’ satisfaction on management is 2.99; the students’ satisfaction on thesis advisor is 3.53; the students’ satisfaction on service work is 3.36; the students’ satisfaction on study effectiveness is 3.16. For a five-point questionnaire score, that overall satisfaction with various dimensions did not reach a satisfactory level(M<4), and the highest mean of the five dimensions of students’ satisfaction is thesis advisor, while management is the lowest. Internal differences in the students’ satisfaction manifested in different gender, there are significant differences in studying effectiveness, while the other four dimensions and overall satisfaction is no significant difference. In different studying reasons, overall satisfaction and the whole dimensions of satisfaction are not significantly different. In whether understand the major, there are significant differences in studying effectiveness, while the other four dimensions and overall satisfaction there is no significant difference. In whether received guidance on pursuing, management and studying effectiveness of students’ satisfaction was significantly different, and there was no difference on overall satisfaction and the other three dimensions. In different levels on acceptance of tuition, management, teaching, service work, studying effectiveness these four dimensions and overall satisfaction are significant differences in satisfaction while there is no difference in thesis advisor. In addition, interview results shows that the respondents think the more satisfied aspects are mainly teaching, service work and thesis advisor, while the more dissatisfied aspects are management, studying effectiveness, recruitment campaigns and pursuing guidance.The author through analyzed the questionnaire data and organized interviews record, summed up the cultivation work on undergraduate dual degree in N University exist following problems: The macro guidance by school is insufficient; the school only has a brief program and simple conditions were specified in principle, but lack of unified management and monitoring system to guarantee the teaching quality. The teaching management by college is loose; lack of the necessary communication and exchange between teachers and students. The cultivation program about dual degree is not perfect; practical aspects are missing. The classroom management by teacher is lax, some teachers didn’t strictly enforced the attendance system, didn’t urge the students to observe classroom disciplines, and the assessment is not strictly required, etc. Lack of guidance for students enrolled, there is certain blindness for students in the choice of a double degree, which have an impact on student motivation and study results.
