Children’s toys as "mentor", plays an indispensable role in the process of their growth. As a part of the family education, toy is an important means of parents in family education. This research based on collecting relevant data by applying the method of literature. Three kindergarten parents and children coming from the city of Bo Zhou, were investigate and interview. It researches from the owning, selection and utility of children’s toys, analyzing the present situation of the urban family children toys. The main results are as follow.First, the result of children’s family toys owning are as follows. The number of the toys is reasonable. Although parents agree that homemade toys are more helpful than toys for children, the number of homemade toys is few. There are different kinds of toys, besides fitness toys and decoration toys, little boys and little girls have small differences in toys.Second, the results of children’s family toys selection are as follows. Parents generally agree that toys play an important role in the development of young children. They attach great importance to the toys’ safety issues. And they value educational toys. Most of them buy toys for children during the holidays or birthdays. The record of formal schooling that parents and children’s toys were not associated with gender concept.Third, the results of children’s family toys utility are as follows. Parents think, the purpose that they buy toys for children is almost realized. High use toys have sound toys, adornment toys and image toy.In this study, the author also found some problems. These problems mainly include: first, many parents pay too much attention to the toys’ effect on children’s intellectual development. Second, many parents choose toys, too restricted by traditional gender concept. Third, there are only a few homemade toys, and it has a low utilization rate.According to the results of research and found that problem, the author argued that toys are small, but meaning. Adult society, especially teachers, must take it seriously. Therefore, he author puts forward the concrete suggestions from owing, selection and utility:First, in terms of children’s family toys owning: firstly, we should control the number of toys, should not be too much or too little. Secondly, parents pay attention to homemade toys, and guide children to participate in.Second, in terms of children’s family toys selection: firstly, we should put ourselves in, and choose a favorite toy for children. Secondly, we should choose appropriate toys for children, and don’t focus on a particular aspect. Thirdly, we should establish a "double gender concept", and played down the negative influence of traditional gender concept.Third, in terms of children’s family toys utility: firstly, everything that we do must be for children, and we should weaken the utilitarian purpose of toys. Secondly, we should buy the reasonable amount of high utility toys for children. Thirdly, we should pay attention to function of the mining, and improve utilization of various types of toys.
