The rapid development of geography and the wide application of information technology in the new era have promoted the construction of curriculum reform,and the General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017)Edition was born in response,encouraging teachers to innovate teaching methods and means,actively develop the cases around them and use them to help students learn geography.Based on this,this paper combines the current situation of high school geography case teaching and case bank construction,and carries out research and application of high school geography case writing and case bank construction,in order to enrich the content of geography classroom teaching,improve students’ interest in learning geography,reduce teachers’ pressure in preparing lessons,and promote teachers’ and students’ common development.This paper summarises the current situation of case teaching and case bank construction through literature research method,draws out the current situation of case teaching application and teaching effect,and determines the relevant theoretical basis and core concepts;uses questionnaire survey method to design and distribute questionnaires to teachers and students in Nanchang high schools to understand the awareness and application of case teaching in front-line schools,draws out the problems encountered in the application of case teaching,and proposes corresponding solution strategies;uses literature research method and inductive analysis method to study a large amount of literature on case selection and case bank construction,and summarises the basic ideas and principles of case selection and case bank construction process.Using literature research method and inductive analysis method to study a large amount of relevant literature on case selection and case bank construction,the basic ideas,principles of case selection and case bank construction process are summarized,and the basic framework of high school geography case bank construction is designed accordingly.Poyang Lake basin includes the first freshwater lake in China,carries the water of five rivers upwards and regulates the water level of Yangtze River downwards,with diverse biological species and rich water resources,and is also a migratory place for migratory birds,with beautiful ecological environment,which is an important ecological economic zone in China and drives the construction and development of surrounding cities.Taking Poyang Lake Basin as an example,we have built a relevant high school geography case study library and used the case study method to select some teaching contents for design and application,hoping to provide corresponding case study library construction ideas,teaching resources and inspiration to the frontline teachers.Through the above study,the main conclusions of this paper are as follows.(1)Teachers all maintain a positive attitude towards the role of case teaching,believing that case teaching can effectively improve students’ interest in learning and efficiency,and that cases are used more frequently in the classroom;they agree with the construction of a high school geography case bank to enrich teaching resources.The current problems are that teachers and students have unclear perceptions of case teaching,the existing cases are fragmented,the quality of cases needs to be improved,and teachers have insufficient awareness of reflection and evaluation when teaching cases.Accordingly,this paper proposes strategies related to the correct understanding and rational use of cases,enhancing the awareness of case reflection and evaluation,improving the quality of cases,and building a corresponding geography teaching case bank.(2)Combined with the survey results,the construction plan and basic process of the case bank were summarized,and the overall plan of teacher training,case classification,case bank framework design,case structure design,and case evaluation criteria development was determined to be followed in the construction of the case bank.Firstly,the basic framework of the high school geography case bank is designed and the case evaluation criteria are formulated,taking into account the basic nature of the geography subject and the curriculum content;secondly,the focus is on mastering the basic ideas of case selection and compilation,clarifying the sources of cases,the basis of selection and compilation,the main subjects,the principles and considerations,forming a complete case bank,paying attention to the updating of the contents of the case bank,and providing ideas for teachers’ case selection and case bank construction.(3)Taking Poyang Lake Basin as the carrier,combining with the relevant contents of the high school geography textbook of the Humanities Education Edition,through reading a lot of literature,the specific requirements of the new curriculum and the contents of the textbook,the watershed materials related to the contents of the textbook,such as agriculture,industry,urban construction and development,natural disasters and ecological protection in the basin,were collected and summarized to form the case library of Poyang Lake Basin.
