To strengthen teachers team construction and improve the overall quality of teachers is an important topic of the current elementary education reform.How to attract talented people,how to promote the professional development of teachers a nd how to retain good teachers is the most critical problem.Teachers public servi ce motivation is an important factor which has caught scholars attention in recen t years,but the domestic researchers have not pay attention to it,especially the stu dy of the western region is rare take this factor into account.This research uses questionnaire method and interview method.Nearly three h undred teachers participated in the investigation,the result shows that:1.Overall,tea chers got a high scores on PSM.In four dimensions,teachers scores on sympathy for struggling students dimension are the highest,followed by teachers selfless de dication dimension,again on teachers recognition and commitment to education fie ld recognized values dimension,and finally on the enthusiasm to participate in the activities of school affairs dimension.2.There is no significant statistical differenc es on PSM and the four dimensions between different gender,job title and acade mic teachers.However,there is significant statistical differences between different e thnic and experience ones.3.Teachers living conditions which include salary and welfare have effects on PSM.Teachers working conditions which include school a nd social factors impact their PSM.4.There are certain problems on teaching,traini ng,the students,position,job satisfaction,the school status and prestige,the salary an d the welfare.These problems have negative effects on PSM and its dimensions.Based on the problems existing in the analysis,We believe that the state, sc hools and teachers should take action from the following aspects:1.Promote educa tion fairness,especially strengthen the weak school,make each school have equal s tatus and prestige.2.Improve teachers treatment,including teachers wages and welfa re,and make the teachers worry-free in the life,involve in the work better.3.Impro ve school hardware such as the teachers office conditions,make teachers have a good working environment.4.Understand the teachers training needs,enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of teacher training.5.Set up the correct view of studen ts,they are in the state of developing.
