In recent years, with the rapid development of social economy, China has made remarkable achievements in various aspects. But the violence in campus has become increasingly prominent, and affected the safety of campus and the health of students both in body and in mind, also affected the harmony and stability of the society. In this paper, through the literature data and questionnaire and the existing research results of scholars, investigated the status of campus violence in middle school, then discussed and analyzed the meaning, types, forms and social harmfulness. Taking this as the breakthrough point, analyzed the cause it from all aspects, and then focused on the moral education function of Ideological Political Education in middle school, and finally put forward the system that based on ideological and political education and cooperated with other aspects, and therefore we can prevent and reduce the occurrence of violence and keep the order in school, and maintain social harmony and stability.In the introduction part, this paper elaborated the phenomenon of campus violence and the significance of the study, and enumerates some research achievements of domestic experts and scholars on campus violence, then introduced the innovation of this paper, that is how to play the moral education function of Ideological and political course in middle school so as to prevent and reduce the occurrence of campus violence. The first part expounds the definition and the harm of campus violence, the second part analyzed the reasons from three aspects: cultural conflict, family factors, and the social transformation, which led to the campus violence increased gradually. The third part focused on the connotation of the moral education function of Ideological and political course, and through the analysis of individual and social functions, got the conclusion that moral education function of Ideological and political lesson can effectively prevent the occurrence of campus violence. The fourth part analyzed the moral education function of Ideological and political course in middle school is facing the problem from three aspects: social environment, community environment and family problems. Then presented the method on how to play the function of ideological political education in the middle school through three aspects: changing idea of education, promoting teaching reform, and strengthening the unification of social education and school moral education.
