Since social work reconstructed in China in the 1980 s, social work has a relatively big development in both educational field and the field of practice. The government has also introduced a number of policy documents to guide and encourage the development of social work. As the capital region, Beijing has also introduced a serious of corresponding policy documents, to provide a clear guiding principle of social work qualified personnel, working goals, etc. However, in the work place, many social workers feel “mobility”, “work pressure” or “burnout”. In Guangzhou and Shenzhen, where social work has developed relatively mature, several research have emerged about “social worker burnout”. Strong role conflict, heavy work pressure and complex relationships have a direct impact on the working status of community workers, which easily induces burnout. Burnout can seriously affect the efficiency of community workers, and their physical and mental state. Furthermore, burnout has a huge impact on the community building.This paper uses case interview and questionnaire investigation methods. Firstly the author interviewed eight community workers and got the information of their work pressure and burnout. Then the author got 359 valid questionnaires from a number of community workers who are work in Beijing communities. This paper proposes three hypotheses: Beijing community workers have job burnout; the existence of differences in demographic variables among Beijing community workers; Beijing community worker burnout and workload, relationships, benefits, personal health are correlated.The main results include:(1) the overall level of Beijing community worker burnout is not serious, but emotional exhaustion is relatively serious;(2) the degree of Beijing community worker burnout has difference among individuals, especially in these respects, which are the presence of age, educational level and professional level of Beijing community workers;(3) youth community workers mobility, low job satisfaction, the team needs to be more harmonious. Finally, based on the results of the analysis, the study gives some suggests in three areas: the government, interpersonal support and community workers themselves.
