Since the New Curriculum Reform for course and teaching is implemented,teachers in Gansu have paid much more attention to scientific teaching methods than ever before. This study aims to investigate the present situation of physics scientific method education in senior middle school and and puts forward the corresponding suggestions on how to cultivate students’ scientific literacy.First of all, in this study,the researcher gives an definition of physical sciences by consulting and analyzing the related literatures at home and aboard. Secondly, the researcher selects Constructivism learning theory and Cognitive discovery theory as the theoretical basis of this study. Based on the study of the physics course standard and the physical material, the researcher takes an deep analysis of the architecture of physics scientific method, the methods including experiment and observation, ratiol method and idealized method. Finally, the researcher takes an questionnaire existing as instrument to investigate the teaching situation of teachers in a senior middle school where the researcher works.Through the survey, the researcher found that the following problems existing in high school. Owing to the limited understanding on the contents and goals of physics scientific method, the teachers in this school failed to make a effective and efficient physic class; The teaching methods used by the teachers in this school are single, the exploratory teaching and experimental teaching did not reach the expected position; The scientific method education is given priority to the recessive penetration,actually, both the penetration and manifest teaching are less in practice; The training task about the scientific method is not ennough; The effect of teaching evaluation can’t be observed in practice and the funtion of teaching evaluation didn’t play its role in class; Many students in this school can’t improve their interest in studying by using the kind of method; Students’ understanding of basic physics scientific method and thinking method is too simple; Most students mainly carry their study out in an old and mechanical way of rote learning and too much practice.In view of the existing problems, the researcher puts forward the following suggestions: Teachers should improve their knowledge in the curriculum standard scientific method by reading the related books; They should create scientific methods and teaching targets, and carefully implement experiments teaching and exploratory teaching; The teaching should seize the correspondency of scientific methods and knowledge, through the knowledge teaching permeate the scientific method education;They should try to find out more ways to implement scientific methods teaching so as to supply diverse choice for teaching.
