Historical pictures as in middle school history teaching a teaching resources and the teaching method, plays an important role to reach the goal of teaching and students’ ability. But in the practical teaching, teachers, students and textbooks used photo selection, there are some problems, how to avoid these defects in the practical teaching, and give full play to the strengths of the actual teaching history. This is the main problem in this paper. This paper defines the meaning of classification from the historical pictures, historical pictures, historical pictures of the function and historical pictures in the teaching goal and the basic teaching mode are discussed, and through two practical teaching case:how the new courses teaching and how to use the pictures in the thematic review lesson gives some thinking. Try to make the historical pictures play to their strengths, to enable students to the most simple method used in the learning process, to achieve the best effect of learning, thus deepening the concept of the new curriculum reform, the cultivation of historical thinking ability.
