With the rapid development of economic globalization and China’s socialist market economy, we are facing is not only the development of science and technology, promote human civilization problem. One-sided emphasis on economic development makes the decline in people’s thought morals quality. College students of science and engineering are important forces in China’s socialist modernization construction, to train them to be all-round development of high-quality personnel, is related to the country’s future and destiny. But in the community diversity today, college students of science and Engineering in the face of the fierce social competition and employment pressure, so that science teachers pay attention to professional knowledge learning and ignore the cultivation of the students’ ideological political and moral quality, leading to low science and engineering students and teachers’ humanistic knowledge and humanistic practice ability. Therefore, current situation of science teachers of political and ideological and political education function, explore effective measures to improve the science and engineering university teachers play the function of Ideological and political education, is an important task of higher education. This paper mainly discusses the science teachers play the function of Ideological and political education problems, referring to the domestic and foreign relevant theories, using the methods of literature analysis method, questionnaire survey method, theoretical research, Northeastern University of science and engineering students were questionnaire as the object and get a first-hand information, according to the present situation of college students of science and engineering quality of ideology and morality. From the perspective of science teachers play the function of Ideological and political education are discussed, and summarizes the reasons, and puts forward some effective countermeasures.This paper consists of the following three parts:the first part discusses the function of Ideological and political education content and science teachers play the importance and particularity of Ideological and political education. The second part according to the questionnaire, through the investigation on the science and engineering students, the full-time staff status and moral education in Universities of science and engineering students quality of ideology and morality in the process may have a blind spot in the ideological and political education, and finally discusses the present situation and the student science teachers play the function of Ideological and political education expectations from the perspective of students. The third part science teachers from the university idea, University mechanism, full-time university team and the four angles proposed how to improve the science teachers play the function of Ideological and political education.
