Mathematical ability is the integral component of mathematical framework, and cultivating such ability of students is one of the essential tasks of mathematical education in high schools. Faced with the principle in National Higher Education Entrance Examination, " Concept of Ability ", students should probe deeply into their own mathematical ability. Based on the investigations of a mid-term examination in Grade 3 of a certain high school, this thesis analyzes its results on the perspective of mathematical ability and poses a second thought through two consecutive surveys.These two surveys of the 248 subjects in this science department show that compared with other abilities, their arithmetic and problem-solving abilities, as the fundamental of mathematical learning, are better mastered by these subjects. On the contrary, application and creativity abilities are quite humble. And logical thinking is another drawback found in this study.Finally, after the comprehensive process of careful investigation, strict examination drafting and explicit surveys, I propose a combined concept of " teaching, learning, examining" based on the perspective of mathematical ability. |
