Classical Chinese based on the language of Qin and Zhou Dynasty and became ancient written language through the ages.It is classical Chinese that recorded the wisdom of ancient sages and carried five thousand years of civilization of the Chinese nation.That is why it plays a great role of promoting excellent ancient Chinese culture. Since there is a huge difference between grammar of classical Chinese and modern Chinese in its history of development, learners are required to know grammar of classical Chinese very well. For students in junior high school, they need to learn basic grammar to help them solve language difficulties in the text. However, under the influence of teachers’ one-sided teaching concept of neglecting grammar and utilitarian learning concept of studying just for examination, students in junior middle school didn’t systematically acquire grammar knowledge. During high school years, classical Chinese grammar knowledge mainly concludes use of key notional words andfunction words,as well as flexible use of parts of speech and relevant know-ledge of special sentence patterns. Special sentence pattern is the most difficult part in grammar knowledge so that teachers find it not easy to teach and studets find it hard to learn.It is common that many students are not clear basic parts in a classical Chinese sentence,let alone more complicated special sentence patterns. Therefore, how to carry out teaching of special sentence patterns has become a problem that almost every Chinese teacher has to face with.Through comparison of grammar of classical Chinese and modern Chinese,this article analyses formation causes of special sentence patterns of classical Chinese and then classifies special sentence patterns in high school compulsory courses. On the basis of analysis of the teaching material,the result ofthis study discusses potential difficulties that would appear in classical Chinese courses by combing with practical experience and aims to put forward methods that help teachers to teach and students to learn classical Chinese more effecttively.Sincerely hope that this paper wouldgive inspirations and references to classical Chinese teachers in the future.
