Study On The Impact Of Population Development On Regional Economic In Gansu Province

Since the reform and opening in economic,China's economy has achieved sustained growth.Meanwhile the spatial pattern of population and the pattern of regional economy have also undergone major changes.The issues of economic and population development have become the focus of academic research,and the focus has shifted from the original single population and economic research to the study of the relationship between the two systems.However,most scholars have studied the impact of population on economic development by single perspective of population spatial pattern.Firstly,this paper makes a detailed analysis of population spatial distribution,population spatial structure,population migration and the regional economic development in Gansu province from a descriptive perspective.Secondly,this paper combine GIS technology and spatial econometric analysis method,which makes quantitative analysis on the impact of population on economic development from three aspects of population spatial pattern.Finally,this paper put forward countermeasures and suggestions for economic development in Gansu Province.The main conclusions of this paper include:(1)In recent years,the natural population growth rate of Gansu province is higher than the national average and keeps at 6‰.In terms of population distribution,the population scale of northwest region is small,while that of southeast region is large.From Gansu individual zones,the population of Hexi and Gannan is small,while Longzhong,Longdong and Longnan is large,the same as population density.In terms of urbanization,Hexi has developed rapidly and the urbanization rate has been gradually improved,while urbanization in eastern region is developing slowly,the growth rate of which has decreased.In terms of employment structure,the employment structure of population industry in Gansu province shows that the employment population in the primary is larger than the secondary industry of that.In terms of population migration,the number of people migrating was increasing from 2000 to 2010.The cultural quality of the migrant population in the province is not high and is generally engaged in the physical work related to the primary and the secondary industry.In terms of economic development,the average annual GDP growth has slowed down,and the economic potential of Longzhong and Longdong regions has been released continuously.There's still a huge gap between GDP per capita and the income between urban and rural area.(2)There is an inconsistency between the economic and population distribution pattern in Gansu province.The population is grouped in the southeast,and the economic development in Hexi is faster than that in the southeast region.The increase of population will bring a certain negative effect on the economic growth,but the increase of population density will promote the economic development of some regions,such as Lanzhou,Jiayuguan,Jinchang and Tianshui.(3)People of different ages have different effects on the economic.People aged 0-14 will exert certain pressure on the economic development.The increase of the population aged 14-64 and over 65 will drive the economic development.The difference in urbanization among different regions is an important reason for the regional economic difference,and the urbanization construction in backward areas should be accelerated.The driving coefficients of the employment population in the three major industries to economic development are 0.069,-0.488,0.925.There is a high correlation between the number of people employed in the tertiary industry and economic development,so the development of the tertiary industry should be accelerated.(4)By selecting the migration of population and the index of the region's economic development for gray correlation analysis,it shows that the immigration of the population has a positive effect on the development of the third industry.The emigrations of population is highly correlated with the primary industry,the tertiary industry and the disposable income of urban residents,which are 0.8616,0.8299 and 0.8060.The correlation between the net migration rate and economic indicators ranged from 0.6680 to 0.7967.In a word,immigration population contributes the most to economic development.Gansu province should attach importance to the migration population,improve infrastructure construction,establish public service system and other policy suggestions to promote the economic development of Gansu province.
