Study On Evaluation Of Sustainable Development Of Higher Vocational Colleges In Hebei Province

The number of vocational colleges and that of their students increase to some extent under the background that our nation greatly promotes the occupation education development in recent years. Vocational colleges exist as a combination of higher education and occupation education, and are responsible for raising well-qualified people in specific areas. Vocational colleges plays irreplaceable role in raising qualified people and promoting the popularization and development of higher education in China.Based on the connotation, theory and related studies of sustainable development in higher vocational colleges, and assessment index system on the quality of educating in higher technical colleges and vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education, and the requirements of establishing typical national vocational colleges, and the specific circumstances in Hebei Province, this study resulted in a sustainable development ability index system and evaluation model. Shijiazhuang staff University was taken as an example,which had been investigated and analysed in depth, and was evaluated regarding its sustainable development level. On top of this, this study further investigated and analysed the evident problems during the sustainable development of vocational colleges in Hebei Province, and provided with strategy and suggestion regarding the limiting factors for the vital problems in their sustainable development.This thesis is constructed by six parts: The first one is abstract, which introduces the background of research topic selection and the purposes, subjects, and approaches of the study; the second one focuses on introducing the concepts and theories of sustainable development of vocational colleges; the third part constructs the sustainable development ability index system based on five aspects consisting of conditions of running the college,quality of lecturers, quality of teaching, funding for running the college and social evaluation. Based on this, a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of vocational colleges in Hebei province is developed; the forth part demonstrates the indexes in the index system,e.g. the current development of conditions of running the college and quality of lecturers;the fifth part takes Shijiazhuang staff University as an example, and analysed the sustainable development ability of this college using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model, which exposes key problems during the development of vocational colleges inHebei province; the sixth part provides with suggestions for improving the sustainable development ability of vocational colleges in Hebei province.
