The ability to refine and integrate historical information refers to the ability to read and comprehend, distinguish and analyze, effectively extract and re-integrate a series of historical information. The new curriculum standards for students clearly define this ability above. In the process of teaching and learning, teachers should test this ability of students and students should grasp the ability, which is not only consistent with the requirements of new curriculum standards, but also the future trends in the university entrance examination. This paper focuses on Arts comprehensive college entrance examination of Shandong province, mainly about material analysis items from 2007 to 2014, in which the questions related to examining historical information extraction and integration capabilities were sorted and classified into five types. And to summarize three kinds of characteristics of questions and five types of raising items, indicating the importance of historical information extraction and integration capabilities for students to participate in the college entrance examination and lifelong development. This paper also includes five problems occurring frequently for students in history information extraction and integration, analyzes the reasons for this: weak language skills, lack of reading comprehension; textbook knowledge is not solid; lack of ability to apply knowledge of migration, etc. Then putting forward specific measures to raise and develop students’ ability to refine and integrate historical information from the perspective of teachers, including innovative materials handling, the effective use of a variety of teaching resources, teaching the historical theory, strengthening the guidance of inquiry learning and training detection. This paper combines the analysis of historical information extraction and integration with examination of this ability in the college entrance examination, aiming to guide teachers and students in theoretical and practical levels to pay attention to the significance of this ability and training historical information extraction and integration capabilities.
