A Case Social Work Study On The Spiritual Consolation Issue Of The Rural Elderly People Living Alone

The sixth nationwide census showed that the number of population of over-60 s has reached 1.78 billion,accounting for 13.26% of the total population.China has entered the stage of population aging.Most children of the rural aged do not work in their hometown,which yielded a lot of empty nest families.These children may satisfy parents‘ material needs,but they can not solve the problem about the spiritual consolation.This paper is a study on the spiritual consolation issue of the rural elderly people living alone who don’t have children or spouse.Comparing with the empty-nesters,they may get more attention.Rural elderly people living alone are not only the subjects in this paper but also the service objects in social work.This paper explains the significance of the research by analyzing the background of the issue based on theories,and it’s to help the rural elderly people living alone by using the method of case social work.The author as well as researchers will try to help the service objects in professional ways.
