In recent years, teaching Chinese as a second language to children has made a leap in quality and quantity after a constant exploration and practice. But it also faces new challenges: the mandarin class students are increasingly younger-age trend. Teaching Chinese to overseas kindergarten children is definitely different from teaching Chinese to Chinese kindergarten or overseas adults. It has presented many peculiarities on teaching theories and overseas kindergarten children group. Therefore, for those Chinese teachers who have never exposed to overseas kindergarten students, how to develop effective classroom activities turns to be a subject worth further research.This paper focuses on the teaching practice in the Clayton Learning Center in the Philippines, follows the relevant theories, describes and analyses the CLC mandarin class style, and reflects on the teaching practice and the specific classroom teaching case. With the hope that this paper can provide some merits for the Chinese teaching as a second language to the foreign kindergarten children, the author summed up both good and bad aspects in the teaching practice, and also raised some opinions to improve and enhance the practical application. |
