In recent years, learning Chinese has become an irresistible trend in the world. Especially after our country has proposed "One Belt, One Road" policy, more and more people want to learn Chinese. The Philippines, one of the neighboring countries to China, has a long history of its Chinese language education. In its almost 117 years development period, due to the effect of the Education Filipinization Policy, its Chinese language education has experienced a changing from first language teaching to a second language teaching. However, many domestic learners do not know very well to the Chinese language teaching in the Philippines. This thesis bases on the writer's own practical experience, taking the Xavier School (XS) as an example to analysis XS' current situation of Teaching Chinese as a Second language (TCSL). In view of the problems in XS'TCSL situation, this thesis also provides some suggestions for XS' reform of TCSL. At the end, the writer hopes to through the development of XS to look forward the whole Philippines TCSL's development. Meantime, the writer hopes this thesis can be helpful to the promotion of Chinese international education and also can be useful to the future's Chinese volunteer teachers'TCSL work. This thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is mainly combining with the current political situation to introduce the research background and research status, research reasons and research methods.The second chapter, from the history of teaching Chinese as a first language and the process of how the Chinese is changing to the second language teaching to introduce its development history in the Philippines.The third chapter is from the aspects of the XS'school running, current teachers and students' situation, teaching materials, teaching time and the ways for the Chinese examination to analysis the current TSCL situation in XS.The fourth chapter is based on the authors own teaching practice to analyze the XS' problems in TCSL teaching, which includes the light of culture idea, single teaching mode, the mobility of teachers, the difficulty of managing the classroom, and also puts forward some suggestions, hoping to promote XS'reform and development of a second language.The fifth chapter is from the development of XS'TCSL see the whole Philippines Chinese School's development.The last Chapter is the mainly summary of this article, and also explains the value and deficiency of this study.
