The internationalization of higher education is an inevitable trend in the higher education field. With the increasing internationalization of higher education, the number of college teachers studying and paying exchange visits abroad keeps growing. For the higher education field, it is the flow of the college teachers that makes the knowledge spread across borders, different cultures communicate and mix together, and new knowledge come into being. For the development of the higher education in China, a large number of college teachers studying abroad can not only take back advanced science and technology, introduce modern experimental methods, but more importantly, they can improve their academic ability and level to narrow the gap between universities in China and some world first-class universities. Therefore, the study on college teachers studying abroad is important and necessary. Through the study on the effect of the academic achievement of the college teachers studying abroad, it can not only enrich and improve theories about human capital investment, but also help to make more reasonable study-abroad policies, adjust the proportion and terms of staffs, and contribute to make more academic achievement. Besides, the study can offer some suggestions about how to recruit and train college teachers, and finally make college teachers more rational and mature about studying abroad.The study takes college teachers who have experience studying abroad as subjects, using the methods of documentation, survey, interview and comparative study and in the perspective of multi-subjects. First, the author narrates related concepts and theories about college teachers studying abroad. Second, the author reviews related policies and regulations, and summarizes the development and features of college teachers since reform and opening up. Next, through further investigation and interview, the author gradually points out the problems that exist, analyses the reasons and factors, puts forward the adjustment to the future policies about college teachers studying abroad to countries, regions and universities, and plans the effort that college teachers should make by themselves in order that college teachers studying abroad can exactly contribute to academic development.
