| Along with the deepening of layout adjustment policy of our primary and middle schools, a number of boarding schools are emerging. The shift of education function,the deepening of educational philosophy and the innovation of educational target put forward higher requirements for the development of teachers’ professional quality of boarding schools. In the vast rural areas, boarding schools play an important role in improving the quality and efficiency of education. However,it is difficult for the original teachers to adapt to the new requirements in boarding schools. As a result,there is not only a positive practical significance, but also certain theoretical value in researching teachers’ professional status, analyzing its professional development problems and seeking to promote the professional development measures in rural boarding primary schools.The full paper is divided into four parts. The first chapter is the introduction. This part researches the origin, collects and analyzes the literature on "professional development of teachers", "teachers’ professional development in rural primary schools" and "teachers in rural boarding schools " and so on from education function transformation of boarding schools, the urgent needs of the rural basic education equality, and strong demand in teaching staff of high quality in boarding schools and other aspects. It also briefly discusses the purpose and significance of this study, basic thought and main methods, and defines the meanings of "rural boarding primary schools" and "teacher’s professional development".The second chapter presents the situation investigation and problem analysis of teachers’ professional development of rural boarding primary schools in Baoji. This section briefly discusses the implementation process of investigation, and examines the basic situation of the rural boarding primary schools’ teachers from the gender structure, age structure, education background, professional title structure and discipline structure. The study found that there were problems such as insufficient understanding in professional development, low ability, weak cordiality, unreasonable structure, shortage of life teachers, most of the teachers taken as "life teachers†and soon in rural boarding primary school teachers.The third chapter analyses the reasons for difficulties in professional development of rural boarding primary school teachers. Research shows that the limit of teachers’ policy system is the social root of the problems, the school management is the important cause of adverse professional development, and teachers’ plight is the inner source of problems in professional development.The fourth chapter describes the strategy to promote professional development of rural boarding primary school teachers. Aiming at many problems and causes of the rural boarding primary school teachers’ professional development, we need to establish the philosophy of professional training for boarding primary school teachers,improve the external security system, perfect the internal management mechanism of boarding primary school teachers’ professional development, and strengthen the teachers’ self consciousness of professional development. In this way, enhance the teachers’ professional development effectively, and strengthen the education function,comprehensively improve the education quality of the rural boarding primary schools,and promote the healthy development of the elementary education in the western rural areas. |
