Rural boarding primary school is a kind of special school-running mode after layout adjustment that to solve the problem in rural elementary school, for which the difficulty to go to school and far away from school. Improving the present situation of rural boarding primary school education is the key to improve quality of compulsory education in rural areas, increase education fairness, and to implement compulsory education balanced development. Caretakers who take care of the students’ daily life in rural boarding primary school are in charge of guaranteeing and enriching boarders’ daily life. They play an irreplaceable role in promoting healthy development and joyful growth of boarders.On the basis of domestic and foreign relevant research dynamic and referring to predecessors’ research results, this study uses literature research method to illuminates the rural boarding primary school caretakers’ role expectation, which including guardian of the students’ physical and mental health, guardian of basic necessities of life, executor of formative education, promoter for boarders’ development, designer of the after school life. The reality of rural boarding primary school caretaker career life in the aspects of the caretaker’s basic structure, working condition, social status, welfare benefits was investigated by questionnaires, interviews and field observation in this dissertation. My dissertation reveals the problems exists in rural boarding primary school caretakers’ professional life :embarrassing identity, low status, hard work, poor treatment, huge responsibility, weak security, instable team, less operators, optional, low quality and etc. I also put forward strategies to promote caretaker professional development of rural boarding primary school life. First of all, clarifying social position of caretakers and improving their social status. Secondly, normalizing the caretakers’ employment and guaranteeing their qualities. Thirdly, enhancing treatment and ensuring their lives. Fourthly, perfecting caretaker’s training systems and promoting their development. Lastly, strengthening the management of caretakers and improving the actual efficiency.
