Self efficacy is an important part of education psychology, foreign related research shows that the use of self- efficiency education can make the physical education training to get half the result with half the effort, while the domestic related research is at the beginning stage. Swimming class is a common physical education course in Colleges and universities. Because of the high complexity of technical movements, some students’ fear of water and other factors, leading to the traditional teaching methods, many students can not get a good learning experience, and always can not get a breakthrough. Based on the above background, this paper attempts to verify the important role of educational psychology in modern physical education by using the self- efficacy induction in swimming teaching in Colleges and universities.This paper chooses 60 swimming beginners as experimental object, mainly uses the experimental method: in the experimental group with self efficacy teaching, the control group uses the traditional teaching method, after 40 hours of teaching experiment, after comparing the 200 meters freestyle experiment, the main conclusions are as follows:First, self efficacy level. Through the experiment, the experimental group students in the success or failure experience, alternative experience, speech and physical emotional state are better than the control group, the results show that the teaching of the rational use of educational psychology can make students’ sense of self efficacy has been significantly improved.Second, the results of swimming technology teaching. Through the experiment, the experimental group students in the departure time, departure time, X 15 m 3 time, the way to travel 135 m time, 5m time and other indicators to reflect a comprehensive leading edge. This shows that the students can better grasp the swimming technology through the psychological assistant education, which is the main part of the students in the experimental group.Third, physical function and form level. Through the experiment, the students in the experimental group had a significant increase in the average heart rate, average body weight, body fat percentage and average vital capacity, while the control group had no obvious change, and the two had a very significant difference. The results showed that the physical function of the two groups of students had a certain difference, the experimental group was better than the control group, compared with the conclusion of the two, it can be concluded that the better swimming technology can help to improve the body function.Through the conclusion of this paper, self- efficacy can help students to build up confidence, master skills, and pay more effort to achieve the goal. I believe that, after the appropriate improvement, the self efficacy of educational psychology must be widely used in basketball, martial arts, gymnastics and other sports teaching projects, greatly improve the teaching efficiency, while improving the quality of students, for the socialist modernization construction contribution strength.
