A Comparative Study On The Present Situation Of Music Education In Urban And Rural Primary Schools In Qixia

In the recommendation process of curriculum reform, teachers play an irreplaceable role. However, in rural areas, some local gaps often lead to big differences between the overall teacher quality of rural areas and that of the developed ones. Some teachers take music as an unessential course. They adopt the same attitude towards music as with art, sports and others. But with the vigorous reform of curriculum in recent years, this kind of idea is reducing day by day. Music education begins to draw the attention of every walk of society, students as well as teachers. This will lay a good foundation for music education. But there still exists a huge gap between rural areas and the city. The emphasis of music education in rural areas is much less than that of city. In our country, the proportion of rural population is much higher than that of the city, so the decision that the key to national basic music quality lies in rural areas is made. To strengthen the building of socialist spiritual civilization is to focus on the improvement of rural population quality, to promote the development of rural areas, to liberate their backward ideas, to improve their moral and ideological level, to change the population burden into a demographic advantage, to cultivate high-quality compound talents from the next generation. Premier Wen Jiabao emphasized to place education in the first place at the national education meeting and to prosper the country with education development. Music education can improve the comprehensive ability of young people, which is irreplaceable by any traditional disciplines. Therefore, attention should be paid to music education of primary school, to improve the comprehensive quality of poverty-stricken areas, to continue to explore, to find a feasible and suitable method for rural areas.Qixia is the birthplace of Chinese civilization since ancient times. The development of music is quite brilliant, of which the drum is more incomparable. Eight diagrams drum dance which is a folk dance of Han nationality originated from Taoism. Qixia is the birthplace of it. It has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage and been spread widely in recent years. The curator of Qixia Cultural Center told the author that they would try to cultivate more subsequent talents to pass the cultural heritage down, and students of schools should be the main force of talents. However, the survey showed that students know little about the eight diagrams drum. In order to know the present situation of music education in Qixia, the author selected 7 primary schools to do a survey. The author hopes that this survey can make some contribution for the future development of music education.
