Compared with the past, students’ ways of thinking and cognitive style have changed greatly with the development of society. When this change takes place in the classroom, it will conflict with the traditional teaching method, which makes the cooperation between teachers and students difficult. It does not help teachers guide students to get knowledge effectively or help students train good behavior habits. In this case, we need to search for some new educational methods for the students. And cooperative learning model is a kind of classroom teaching method which has been widely used in the world. It is a creative and effective teaching theory and has active meanings in the promotion of learning effect.Since 1990 s, the concept of cooperative learning and the group activities in the classroom began to be introduced into the primary education system in our country, and gradually attracted teachers’ attention and popularization. As an actual result, group cooperation learning, as a successful and effective teaching strategy, has been widely used in the primary and secondary school education. This teaching mode intends to improve students’ learning mainly through the interaction between teachers and students in the teaching course. However, after the introduction and usage of this teaching model in domestic education, there are some problems in the process of the combination between this teaching mode and the local education. The essence of the theory does not show well, which is largely due to the theoretical development and education practice in China.This paper aims to study and discuss how to improve the English Teaching in primary schools by using the group cooperation learning method with the personal work experience of mine as a reference. Through the forms of questionnaire, interview and experiment comparison, the paper gets practical data through which the effect of the cooperative learning mode is analyzed. In view of some problems reflected in the practical application of cooperative learning, the paper puts forward its own views and opinions, so as to further improve the cooperative learning mode, to help students improve their learning efficiency, and to promote the continuous improvement of primary school English teaching and learning.
