Positive psychology is a psychology movement originated with Martin Seligman, an American psychologist, which rose firstly in the United States at the end of 20 th century. It advocates that humans should interpret their psychological phenomena and psychological problems with a positive attitude. It’s dedicated to stimulating the potential virtues and strengths of humans so that everyone could access to authentic happiness in their lives. Positive psychology broke the passive mode of psychology concerned about “failure, problems, obstacles” which has lasted over a century. And it switches attention to individual signature strengths with aims for potential development and a sense of well-being.On the basis of the positive psychology, positive education is a reflection of traditional education. It emphasizes that education is not only to correct mistakes, to transform problems and overcome shortcomings, but also to discover and study students’ various virtues(including the explicit and the potential) as well as to cultivate and develop these virtues in practice. “It is the recognition and application of children’s own positive strengths that the true educational foundation comes from. Likewise, it comes from your understanding and pursuit of the meaning of life.” Therefore, the author suggests that the positive psychology theory could be used as a guide in the class management practice. It would be a great help for the positive growth of students to focus on cultivating students’ positive psychological quality and constant discovering their positive strengths and potential.According to the relevant literature and the observation of basic education, this article analyzes the present situation of class management at home and abroad.
